What’s been going on

The steel frame is now complete. This week we have fixed the safety nets below the remaining suspended floor slabs and started placing the metal decking to Section 3. Read more

What’s been going on

This week we have progressed the steelwork to Section 3, which includes the larger classrooms to Food Tech, Engineering, Science and Textiles as well as humanities. We have also installed the pre-cast concrete stair cases to Section 1. Read more

This week we have placed concrete to the suspended slabs to Section 1 of the new building. This is the three storey section which Music, MFL, Maths and English classrooms. Read more

Steel decking has now been installed to Section 1 of the new building, and foundations completed to allow steel erection to progress on Section 2 next week. Read more

Steelwork is now complete to the first wing of the new building. Next week we will be placing the deck sheets to this wing to form the soffit to the 1st and 2nd floor slabs. Read more

What’s been going on.

You will have probably noticed real changes at the back of the College this week as we have started erection of the steel frame to the new building. The first section to be erected is the wing containing the MFL, Learning support, Music, English and Maths classrooms. This section also includes the lift that gives access to all levels within the new building. Read more

What’s been going on

Foundations continue to the central wing of the new College building. All the old foundations to the LRC/English block have now been removed to allow the new foundations to be constructed within the footprint of the LRC building. Read more

Foundations are now underway to the central wing of the new College building and demolition of the LRC/English Classrooms has been completed and the existing foundations are being removed to make way for the new building foundations and drainage. Read more
