GCSE

GCSE P.E. is a very popular subject with 76 pupils in year 11 and 88 in year 10 opting to take P.E. at GCSE level.  There are 4 classes in each year group so class sizes are also manageable. The department delivers the AQA specification A syllabus.

Last years cohort achieved 54% A*-C in P.E.  This result was consistent with baseline data.

Extra Curricular

The department offers an extensive extra curricular programme which takes place both prior to and after school. The school has representative teams in the following;

Girls and Boys football
Rugby League
Netball
Boys and Girls Hockey
Basketball
Rounders
Cricket
Athletics

We also have clubs in Trampolining, Weight Training and Badminton.

The department also runs an ‘inter-form sport activity’ competition for each year group. These take place on Thursday afternoons and have proved to be very popular with the pupils.  With the exception of trampolining, all the sports covered in P.E. lessons are competed for in the inter-form competition. The highlight of this competition is the School’s Sports Day in July.
